Conduct: I caused Park Road Fish Bar Limited (“PRFB”) to breach the conditions of the Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) Scheme by overstating annual turnover in order to obtain a loan of £50,000, when I knew, or ought to have known, that PRFB was not eligible for a loan of that amount, in that: ? The terms of the BBL scheme allowed a company to apply for a loan up to 25% of the annual turnover of the company in the calendar year 2019 from a minimum of £2000, up to a maximum of £50,000. If a business was established after 1 January 2019, the 25% limit could be applied to the estimated annual turnover form the date the business started. ? PRFB was incorporated on 25 May 2017. ? On 11 June 2020 I applied for a BBL on behalf of PRFB and stated on the BBL application form that PRFB’s turnover was £200,000. ? PRFB’s end of year accounts for the period ended 31 May 2019 show turnover of £122,751 and for the period ended 31 May 2020 a turnover of £125,917. ? Therefore, even using the highest turnover figure from the accounts, PRFB would have been entitled to a BBL of no more than £31,479. ? On 12 June 2020 PRFB received £50,000 in respect of the BBL, and this remains outstanding in full at the date of liquidation.
