Conduct: Stephen Damian Satchell (“Mr Satchell”) failed to ensure that Wholesale Blinds 2 U Ltd (“Wholesale Blinds”) maintained and/or preserved adequate accounting records or in the alternative he failed to deliver up adequate records covering the entire period of Wholesale blinds trading from 14 February 2017 to the date of Liquidation on 25 May 2022. As a result, it has not been possible to ascertain or verify: The full extent of Wholesale Blinds’ trading over the period from commencement on 14 February 2017 to Liquidation on 25 May 2022 and that all such trading was passed through the sole disclosed business bank account in operation from 27 March 2017 to 19 October 2020 which reflects turnover of £640,898.16 over that period. That funds paid out of Wholesale blinds disclosed business bank account totalling £640,898.16 over the period 27 March 2017 to 19 October 2020 were all in respect of services incurred and were for the benefit of Wholesale blinds trading. The reasons for a turnover declaration of £450,000 on Wholesale blinds application for a Bounce Back Loan made on 12 May 2020 when Wholesale blinds bank statements showed turnover for the relevant period, being the 2019 year, of £80,647. The number of trading premises operated by Wholesale blinds given that Mr Satchell has provided schedules, in support of usage of £41,000 paid to him from Bounce Back Loan proceeds, of rent paid for a further three trading premises in addition to that disclosed to the Liquidator The full extent of any trading after 19 October 2020 or to ensure that any proceeds from such trading were utilised to the benefit of Wholesale blinds and its creditors. It has not been possible to verify the assets and liabilities estimated in Mr Satchell’s sworn Statement of Affairs dated 13 May 2022, other than to Wholesale blinds bank owed £50,600.77. To confirm the accuracy of HMRC’s final claim totalling £127,441.70 nor to verify other creditors shown in the Statement of Affairs as owed £3,806.69. The records are insufficient to establish Wholesale blinds’s cause of failure and determine whether there may be further assets realisable for the benefit of creditors.
