The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019. • The company was incorporated on 23 June 2016. • On 13 May 2020 Mrs Uddin’s fellow Director applied for a BBL of £37,000 on behalf of the company intimating that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was at least £148,000. • The company received the BBL funds of £37,000 on 13 May 2020. • The former company accountant has supplied the Insolvency Service with a document entitled “TMKA Sales Jan-Dec19” which shows “Sales/Income Monthly” as £99,000 for the period January to December 2019. • Between 15 and 26 May 2020 payments totalling payments totalling at least £30,424 of the BBL funds were paid out of the company bank account. Mrs Uddin has failed to provide a satisfactory explanation, or provide evidence, to show that these payments were for the economic benefit of the business. ? At the date of Liquidation, the company had total liabilities of £93,176 inclusive of £37,000 in respect of the BBL.
