Conduct: On 19 May 2020 Azizullrahman Akbari (‘’Mr Akbari’’) caused New Watan Bakery Ltd (‘’NWB’’) to apply for a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £50,000 using overstated turnover figures, which resulted in NWB receiving more funds that it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. In that: • Under the BBL scheme a business that was established before 01 January 2019 could apply for a loan of up to 25% of its annual turnover figure in the 2019 calendar year, up to a maximum of £50,000; NWB was incorporated on 17 June 2016 and commenced trading on the same day; • On 19 May 2020 Mr Akbari applied for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of NWB declaring that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £214,010 and the loan was received in the company’s account on 21 May 2020; • NWB accounts show a turnover of £62,584 for the period ended 30 June 2019 and £52,370 for the period ended 30 June 2020; • Total liabilities at liquidation amount to £53,146 of which £51,146 relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL.
