Conduct: Mr Lyndon Farrington (“Mr Farrington”) caused Beep Cloud Account Ltd (“Beep Cloud Account”), Beep Mine Ltd (“Beep Mine”) and Beep Xtra Services Limited (Beep Xtra) to apply for a government backed Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £50,000 for each company when he knew or ought to have known that the companies did not meet the eligibility criteria for a BBL of that amount, in that: Beep Cloud Account Ltd • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 01 January 2019, it was their estimated turnover.   • Beep Cloud Account was incorporated on 20 May 2016 • On 29 June 2020 Mr Farrington applied for a £50,000 BBL on behalf of Beep Cloud Account declaring that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £285,000. • Analysis of the company bank statements for the calendar year 2019 shows credits of £2,204. • Considering the turnover figure of £2,204 the maximum BBL entitlement was £551 which does not meet the minimum BBL amount of £2,000. • The overstatement of turnover meant that the Beep Cloud Account received £50,000 more than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. • At the date of the Winding Up Order on 28 February 2023, £50,000 remained outstanding in respect of the BBL. Beep Mine Ltd • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 01 January 2019, it was their estimated turnover.   • Beeb Mine Ltd was incorporated on 07 June 2017 • On 28 May 2020 Mr Farrington applied for a £50,000 BBL on behalf of Beep Mine Ltd declaring that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £275,000. • Analysis of the company bank statements for the 2019 calendar year show credits of £84,645. • Considering the turnover figure of £84,645 the maximum BBL entitlement was £21,161. • The overstatement of turnover meant that the Beep Mine Ltd received £28,839 more than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. • At the date of the Winding Up Order on 28 February 2023, £50,000 remained outstanding in respect of the BBL. Beep Xtra Services Ltd • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 01 January 2019, it was their estimated turnover. • Beep Xtra Services Limited was incorporated on 25 February 2015 • On 25 May 2020 Mr Farrington applied for a £50,000 BBL on behalf of Beep Xtra Services Limited declaring that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £250,000. • Analysis of the company bank statements for the 2019 calendar year show credits of £89,534. • Considering the turnover figure of £89,534 the maximum BBL entitlement was £22,383. • The overstatement of turnover meant that the Beep Xtra Services Ltd received £27,617 more than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. • At the date of the Winding Up Order on 28 February 2023, £50,000 remained outstanding in respect of the BBL.
