Conduct: Drilona Mehmetaj caused or allowed Construction Twelve Ltd (“CTL”) to apply for a Bounce Back Loan ("BBL") using an overstated turnover figure of £216,500, and as a consequence CTL received more funds than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme, in that: • Companies established before 01 January 2019 could apply for a loan of up to 25% of turnover in the 2019 calendar year, from a minimum of £2,000 up to a maximum of £50,000. If the company was established after 01 January 2019, an estimated annual turnover could be used by the applicant. • CTL was incorporated on 17 March 2016 and started trading before 01 January 2019, and accordingly it was not entitled to use an estimated annual turnover on the BBL application form. • CTL’s annual accounts turnover and banking receipts show that CTL received £40,857.46 in 2019 which would have entitled it to a maximum BBL of £10,214. CTL’s BBL application form declared an annual turnover of £216,500, and consequently on 15 June 2020 CTL received a £50,000 BBL. • The overstatement of turnover meant that CTL received at least £39,786 more than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. • CTL entered Creditors Voluntary Liquidation on 21 July 2022. • At liquidation, CTL’s Statement of Affairs signed by Drilona Mehmetaj dated 07 July 2022 declared a liability totalling £66,025.70, of which £49,373.70 was owed to the bank.
