Conduct: On 05 June 2020, Mr Jillul Haque also known as Mr Jillul Hoque (“Mr Haque”), caused Vogue Group Limited (“VGL”) to breach the terms and conditions of the Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) scheme by overstating its turnover on the BBL application, as a result Vogue Group received more funds than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. In that: • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019.   • VGL was incorporated on 07 January 2016 and Mr Haque states that it began trading in 2017. • On 05 June 2020, Mr Haque applied for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of VGL declaring that its turnover for the 2019 calendar year was £205,000. • VGL received the BBL funds of £50,000 on 08 June 2020. • VGL’s bank statements show receipts of £17,446.74 in the 2019 calendar year. • VGL filed approved accounts for the periods ending 31 January 2019 and 31 January 2020, which show turnover of £18,204 and £16,108 respectively. • According to the credits received into its bank account during 2019 VGL would have been entitled to apply for a maximum BBL of £4,361.69 • VGL therefore received BBL funds of £45,638.31 to which it was not entitled. • Mr Haque has not provided any documentary evidence to support the stated turnover figure of £205,000 or that VGL was entitled to apply for a BBL of £50,000. • On 18 May 2023, VGL entered Creditor’s Voluntary Liquidation with total liabilities of £67,247.36, of which £52,247.36 was owed in respect of the BBL.
