Conduct: Mr Hafiz Bilal Butt (“Mr Butt”) has caused at least £43,500 of a Government-backed Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) obtained by Sobsab Limited (“Sobsab”) to be disbursed in a manner which was not for the economic benefit of Sobsab, contrary to the terms of the BBL scheme. In that: • A BBL of £50,000 was paid into Sobsab’s bank account on 19 May 2020. • The balance on this account immediately before the BBL credited the account was £696.79. • Between 19 May 2020 and 26 May 2020 payments totalling £29,500 were made to a third party. No credits were made to the bank account during this period. • On 4 June 2020, a credit was made to the account in the sum of £4,000. This took the account balance from £17,425.61 to £21,425.61. • On 4 June 2020, a payment of £18,000 was made to another third party. • Mr Butt has failed to provide any response and/or evidence to show that these transactions were made for the economic benefit of Sobsab and Mr Butt has failed to respond to the Liquidator’s request for books and records made on 11 October 2022, 7 November 2022, 13 December 2022 and 18 January 2023. • No payments were made in reduction of the BBL and the balance to the Company’s bank at the date of liquidation was £50,445.98.
