All credits received into the company’s bank account in the calendar year 2019 came to £5,685. Turnover in such amount fell below the threshold of £8,000 in turnover required to obtain the lowest available BBL of £2,000 • Abbey made an application on 19 June 2020 for a BBL of £50,000, stating that turnover for 2019 had been £225,000. • By declaring the turnover as £225,000, Abbey received a BBL of at least £39,401 more than it was entitled to. • The application was approved and the BBL monies of £50,000 were received into Abbey’s current account on 22 June 2020, • Abbey entered Creditor’s Voluntary Liquidation on 11 August 2022 • Total liabilities at liquidation amount to £67,065 of which £50,609 relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL
