Conduct: On 20 October 2020 Mr Gashi caused STS to obtain a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £50,000 using an overstated turnover figure, which resulted in STS obtaining a BBL that was more than it was entitled to. In that: • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 01 January 2019 it is their estimated turnover. • STS was incorporated on 14 May 2015. • STS received the BBL funds of £50,000 on 20 October 2020. Mr Gashi applied for the BBL on behalf of STS declaring that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £250,000. • STS’s bank statements show that income for the period from 01 January 2019 to 31 December 2019 was £127,297. • Total liabilities at liquidation amount to £100,915 of which £50,029 relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL (and interest). Repayments have been made after liquidation totalling £5,500, reducing the liabilities to £95,415 of which £44,529 relates to the BBL (and interest).
