Conduct: On 22 June 2020 and 24 December 2020, Cassandra Corallini (“Mrs Corallini”) caused The Cricketers (Essex) Ltd (“TCE”) to expend Bounce Back Loan funds of at least £43,817 for purposes that did not provide economic benefit to TCE, in breach of the BBL terms and conditions.   • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 01 January 2019 it was their estimated turnover.    • Businesses which originally borrowed less than the maximum amount available to them under the Scheme were eligible to top-up their original loan, however the total loan amount was not to exceed 25% of the business’s turnover. • Under the terms and conditions of the scheme, funds provided in a BBL were to be used for the economic benefit of the business, and were to be used wholly for business and not personal purposes. • On 04 May 2020, Mrs Corallini’s co-director applied for a BBL of £30,000, declaring in the BBL application that the funds would be used for the economic benefit of the business, and would be used wholly for business purposes and not personal purposes. • On 06 May 2020, the BBL funds of £30,000 were received, taking the balance on the bank account of TCE to £30,196 at the end of 06 May 2020. Between 06 May 2020 and 23 June 2020 receipts into the bank account of TCE totalled £3,566. On 26 June 2020, a transfer of £29,200 was made to C Corallini, of which at least £25,348 can only have come from the BBL funds received, in breach of the terms and conditions of the BBL scheme. • On 23 December 2020, TCE received a BBL top up of £20,000, with the balance on the company bank account becoming £20,431.  On the next day, a payment of £18,900 was paid to C Corallini, of which at least £18,469 can only have come from the BBL top up funds received, in breach of the terms and conditions of the BBL scheme. • Mrs Corlallini has failed to provide evidence that the £43,817 of BBL funds transferred to C Corallini were used for the economic benefit of TCE. • Total liabilities at liquidation amount to £198,243 of which £41,257 relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL.
