Conduct: Allegation On 05 May 2020 Bafour Yaw Djang (“Mr Djang”) caused Okla Technology Limited (“Okla”) to make a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) application of £45,000 in breach of the terms of the BBL scheme. Mr Djang made a wrongful declaration by overstating Okla’s turnover as a result Okla has received more funds than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. In that: • Okla was incorporated on 17 March 2015. • A business could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of their turnover in the calendar year 2019. • Bank statements for year 2019, show a turnover of £97,666. • On 05 May 2020 Mr Djang applied for a BBL of £45,000 on behalf of Okla declaring a turnover figure of £190,000 for calendar year 2019. • On 11 May 2020, BBL funds of £45,000 were paid into company’s bank account. • Considering the turnover figure of £97,666, the maximum BBL entitlement was £24,416. • The overstatement of turnover meant that Okla received £20,584 more than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. • Repayments were made towards the BBL of £3,948. • On 30 May 2023, Okla entered Creditors Voluntary Liquidation with known liabilities of £75,137, of which £43,077 is owed in respect of the BBL.
