Conduct: Richard Linley Hall (“Mr Hall”) allowed incorrect information concerning the turnover of Itaas 4u Ltd (“Itaas”) to be used to obtain a BBL of £50,000 when he knew or ought to have known that Itaas was only entitled to a BBL of £25,664 based on the income received for the year ending 31 December 2019, in that:   • Itaas was incorporated on 20 October 2014 • Mr Hall was appointed as the sole director from 14 December 2017 until Liquidation. • Under the BBL scheme rules, a company that was carrying on business on 01 March 2020 was eligible for one BBL of 25% of its 2019 calendar year turnover, up to a maximum of £50,000. When making an application for a BBL, an applicant had to self-certify the company’s 2019 calendar year turnover. Where a company commenced trading after 01 January 2019, the applicant was entitled to provide a reasonable estimate of Company annual turnover from the date it started business. • Itaas was not eligible to predict its turnover. • Income for the year ending 31 December 2019 was £102,657 enabling Itaas to apply for a maximum BBL in the sum of £25,664. • On 08 August 2020, Mr Hall allowed a third-party individual to apply for a BBL in the sum of £50,000 stating that Itaas’s turnover was £250,000. • By applying for a BBL of £50,000 Itaas received £24,336 more than it was entitled to. • The BBL proceeds of £50,000 were received on 10 August 2020. • Itass entered Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation on 29 June 2023 • At liquidation, the sum of £48,938.99 remained outstanding in respect of the BBL.
