Conduct: On or around 01 March 2021 William Thomas Beaney (“Mr Beaney”) caused Holland Trucks (Essex) Ltd (“Holland Trucks”) to breach the terms and conditions of the Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) scheme by overstating its turnover on the BBL application, when he knew or ought to have known that Holland Trucks was not entitled to a BBL of £50,000, resulting in Holland Trucks receiving more BBL funds than it was entitled to. In that: • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 1 January 2019 it is their estimated turnover. • On or around 01 March 2021, Mr Beaney applied for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of Holland Trucks declaring that its 2019 annual turnover was £225,000. • Holland Trucks’ bank statements between 01 January 2019 and 31 December 2019 show income totalling £43,847, therefore it would have been entitled to a BBL of £10,962. • On 02 March 2021, Holland Trucks received the BBL funds of £50,000 into its bank account. • Holland Trucks therefore received BBL funds of £39,038 to which it was not entitled. • Holland Trucks entered Creditors Voluntary Liquidation on 24 April 2025 with creditors outstanding of £30,352, which related to the BBL including interest charged
