Conduct: On 16 May 2020, Muhammad Mubashar (“Mr Mubashar”) caused MM Services (Stoke-on-Trent) Limited (“MMS”) to breach the terms and conditions of the Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) scheme by overstating the company’s turnover, resulting in MMS receiving a loan of £50,000 which was more than it was entitled to, in that; • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 01 January 2019 it is their estimated turnover. • MMS was incorporated on 05 September 2014. • On 16 May 2020 Mr Mubashar applied for a BBL on behalf of MMS and stated on the BBL application form that the company’s turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £200,000. • MMS’s end of year accounts for the period ended 30 September 2019 and 30 September 2020 show turnover of £26,075 and £21,800 respectively. • On 19 May 2020 MMS received £50,000 in respect of the BBL. • MMS’s liabilities at liquidation were £44,109 which solely relate to the BBL.
