Conduct: Mr Olubukola Mosaku caused Inquire Management Ltd to trade to the detriment of HM Revenue & Customs (“HMRC”), from 07 January 2015 in respect to VAT and from 01 May 2016 in respect to Corporation Tax by failing to ensure the company remitted monies to HMRC as and when due. In that:- VAT

  • The company submitted returns for the quarters ending from November 2014 to July 2015 and the VAT due in this period totalled £17,424, against which one payment of £1,000 was made leaving the balance outstanding totalling £16,424.
  • The company submitted no returns from the quarter ended October 2015 to the date of liquidation, HMRC raised assessments in this period totalling £47,861.
  • The last and only payment made was for £1,000 on 02 March 2015 and the total VAT outstanding is £64,285. CORPORATION TAX
  • The return for accounting period between 07 July 2014 and 06 July 2015 showed £18,972 was due in respect to Corporation Tax.
  • The return for accounting period between 07 July 2015 and 31 July 2015 showed £7,209 was due in respect to Corporation Tax.
  • The return for accounting period ended 31 July 2016 showed £30,487 was due.
  • No payments have been made in respect to Corporation Tax and £56,668 is outstanding. DETRIMENTAL TREATMENT OF HMRC
  • As at 01 August 2015 the balance on the Director Loan Account was £23,598 and following amounts advanced of £57,491 the balance as at 31 July 2016 was £81,078
  • From 01 August 2016 to the date of liquidation the company’s income totalled £229,013 of which HMRC received Nil and he received £181,789.
  • The liability to HMRC totals £120,953 and is the sole creditor in the liquidation.
