Conduct: On 1 December 2020, Benjamin John Green (“Mr Green”) also known as John Green, caused Pyro Technic Manufacturing Europe Limited (“Pyro”) to apply for a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) using overstated turnover figures, which resulted in Pyro obtaining a BBL of £50,000 to which it was not entitled. In that: • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover for the calendar year 2019. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. Pyro was incorporated on 20 December 2013. On 1 December 2020, Mr Green applied for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of Pyro, declaring that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £294,440. Accounts for period ended 31 December 2019 disclose turnover of £217. Therefore, based on its actual turnover for the calendar year 2019, Pyro was not entitled to any BBL funds. Pyro received the BBL funds of £50,000 on 4 December 2020. Total liabilities at liquidation amount to £51,000 of which £50,000 relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL.
