Conduct: Mrs Helen Sally Thornton-Turp (“Mrs Thornton-Turp”) failed to ensure that Pink Consulting (SE) Limited (“Pink Consulting”) met its financial commitments as regards to Value Added Tax (VAT) and Corporation Tax (CT) and caused Pink Consulting to continue trading whilst withdrawing funds for the benefit of herself. As a result Pink Consulting became unable to meet its financial commitments to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) as and when they became due in that: VAT

  • Pink Consulting failed to submit VAT returns for the quarter ending February 2015 through to the quarter ending November 2017.
  • HMRC raised VAT assessments in place of the missing returns for a total of £86,797.
  • VAT surcharges were incurred totalling £10,501.
  • Pink Consulting made four payments during this period totalling £18,068.
  • At the date of liquidation, a total of £79,230 was outstanding in respect of the VAT assessments and VAT surcharges. Corporation Tax
  • Pink Consulting made the required returns in respect of Corporation Tax for the year ended 31 March 2016 showing the sum of £18,087 was due on 01 January 2017 but failed to make any payment towards this liability.
