Conduct: Mirshod Shakirov (“Mr Shakirov”) caused Miora Group Ltd (“Miora”) to breach the conditions of the Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) scheme by overstating Miora’s annual turnover to obtain a loan of £49,000 that Mr Shakirov knew or ought to have known Miora was not eligible for, in that • The BBL Scheme was introduced to help smaller businesses impacted by coronavirus. It aimed to assist businesses to borrow between £2,000 up to 25% of business turnover (the maximum amount available being £50,000). • As Miora was established before 1 January 2019, turnover for the calendar year 2019 should have been quoted on the application form. • Turnover is defined as the total of sales made by a business in a certain period. • Miora’s accounts for the period ended 31 August 2019 show turnover of £2,325. • Bank statements for the period 1 September 2019 to 28 December 2019 show funds received of £6,839 which includes £3,039 received from Mr Shakirov. • On 16 September 2020, Mr Shakirov applied for a BBL of £49,000 on behalf of Miora, stating in the loan application that Miora’s annual turnover was £250,000. • On 8 October 2020, the BBL of £49,000 which Miora was not eligible for, was credited to Miora’s current bank account and was spent between 28 October 2020 and 23 December 2020. • At the date of liquidation on 25 November 2021, a total of £70,702 was owed to creditors, of which £49,000 was in respect of the BBL and £21,702 was owed to Mr Shakirov.
