As a result of the failure to file accurate annual accounts with Companies House on a timely basis or at all, it has not been possible to determine the assets and liabilities of the company at any point in time. Mrs Raveendran caused 77T to fail in its requirement to compulsorily register for VAT after it had breached the applicable VAT threshold and to fail in its requirement to file VAT returns thereafter, in that: In 2018 HM Revenue and Customs (“HMRC”) instigated an investigation into the company affairs In a letter dated 17 November 2021, HMRC informed the company that: It was required to have registered for VAT on 01 September 2014 It was liable for a VAT debt of £164,975 for the period 01 September 2014 to 31 December 2017 Historic VAT thresholds are available online, and are recorded as: £82,000 turnover for the 2015-2016 financial year £83,000 turnover for the 2016-2017 financial year £85,000 turnover for the 2017-2018 financial year Bank statements for the company, between 25 September 2015 and 20 September 2018, record turnover of: £169,173 from September 2015 to March 2016 £652,919 from April 2016 to March 2017 £718,418 from April 2017 to March 2018 There is no suggestion, nor evidence to state, that the company exclusively made sales which were not subject to VAT
