  • He caused or allowed inaccurate VAT returns to be submitted for the period September 2013 to December 2014 which resulted in HMRC assessing an underpayment of £81,640, a penalty of £43,564 and interest of £5,217.22
  • VAT returns were submitted for March 2015 to March 2016 but were unpaid at the date of the Winding Up Order resulting in a liability of £4,981.80
  • No VAT return was submitted for June 2016 resulting in HMRC making an assessment of £1,908. HMRC also assessed the Final Return which was a rebate of £343.36.
  • The total amount due to HMRC in respect of VAT including penalties and interest is £136,967.66. Corporation Tax
  • He failed to ensure Corporation Tax Returns were submitted for 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008 resulting in assessments being raised totalling £17,200. There was also interest of £1,401.19. This was outstanding at the date of the Winding Up Order.

  • At the date of liquidation HMRC is shown as being the largest creditors owed £155,568 and the only other creditor is owed £22,000.
