Conduct: On 14 July 2020, Lyndsey Ali (“Mrs Ali”) caused Z33ra Limited t/a Zeera Spice Lounge (“Zeera”) to apply for a £50,000 Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) that was more than it was eligible for by overstating business turnover. As a result, Zeera received BBL funds of at least £17,278 that it was not entitled to, in that: The terms of the BBL stated that a Company could apply for a loan of up to 25% of the Company’s turnover, from a minimum of £2,000, up to a maximum of £50,000. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or, where a business was established after 01 January 2019, it is their estimated turnover. Zeera was incorporated on 15 September 2017 and began trading in September 2017. Mrs Ali was therefore required to use turnover for the full calendar year of 2019 when applying for a BBL. On the BBL application form, Mrs Ali declared that Zeera’s turnover for the 2019 calendar year was £300,000. Zeera’s bank statements show total income of £130,888 in the 2019 calendar year. Professionally prepared accounts submitted to Companies House for the year ending 30 September 2020 show a turnover of £79,241. On 14 July 2020, Zeera received a BBL of £50,000. Total liabilities at liquidation amount to £90,033 of which £42,549 relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL.?
