Conduct: On 14 May 2020 Ghulam Fatima Butt (Mrs Butt) caused S & F Sales Ltd (S&F) to obtain a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £50,000 using overstated turnover figures, which resulted in S&F obtaining a BBL that was £48,346 more than it was entitled to. In that: • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 1 January 2019 it is their estimated turnover. • S&F was incorporated on 04 April 2017 • On or before 14 May 2020, Mrs Butt applied for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf S&F declaring that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £200,000. • Mrs Butt has since stated that turnover for 2019 was £6,615, and unaudited accounts to year end 30 April 2020 show that the turnover was £1,439 • S&F received the BBL funds of £50,000 on 14 May 2020 • Total liabilities at liquidation amount to £48,379 of which £43,333 relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL.
